Computers

The Aims and Objectives of the Computer Group are to encourage members of the U3A to become computer literate, so that they can communicate, especially with their grandchildren on equal terms, wherever they may be. To share knowledge with fellow members and to encourage all members to take an active part in the proceedings of the group.

Subjects covered include Word Processing, Databases, Spreadsheets, Powerpoint presentations, the Internet (the World Wide Web), E-mail, Desktop Publishing, Digital Photography, Anti-Virus, Anti-Malware and FireWall protection.

We are continually looking to detect trends and to search out what is new.

Equipment required: At present it is essential that members have a computer of their own or access to one. as meetings are held online because of the pandemic

Meetings: We meet on the First Friday in each month.

Venue: Whilst COVID-19 restrictions remain in place our meetings are being held online using ZOOM video conferencing software. Meetings in The Village Centre cannot take place whilst the current restrictions are in force and the Centre remains closed

Time: From 2:30pm to 4:00pm

Cost: £2.00 (Two Pounds) per member per meeting to cover the hire of the meeting room and administration costs. A supplementary charge is levied for notes of the meeting if members require them.

Programme: Published annually and runs from September to July.
